Got Prayer Fatigue? Try Prayer Champions!

Want to overcome prayer fatigue? Try appointing a Prayer Champion! Your Prayer Champion decides how you will pray, and runs the prayer time. Rotate the Prayer Champion assignment every week so different people get to be the ones to determine the prayer method for that week.

5 Methods to Refresh Your Group's Prayer Life

  • 1

    Pass the Baton

One person shares a prayer request, then someone prays for that person immediately. The "baton" is then passed to the one who prayed, and they share their request, then they get prayed for. That pray-er shares their request, and so on.

  • 2

    Days of the Week

Split up your group members across the days of the week, assigning names to each day. Then on Monday, have everyone pray for the names listed on Monday, etc., cycling through everyone over the course of the week.

  • 3

    Random Shuffle

Have everyone write their prayer request on a card, then shuffle the cards and distribute them to be taken home and prayed for all week.

  • 4

Zoom Breakout Rooms or Prayer Pairs

Split your online group into Zoom Breakout Rooms - two people to a room - so pairs can pray privately with each other, then, at a specified time, Zoom returns everyone to the main room. For in-person groups, assign Prayer Pairs to pray with each other.

  • 5

    Focused Topic

Choose one topic to pray for, such as healing (healing of health, healing in relationships, etc.), or people's salvation. You could keep an ongoing list of people for whom you are praying about their salvation, and revisit it regularly to pray or brainstorm ways to reach out and care for them.
