In Making Your Small Group Work, a four-session, video-based study, Cloud, Donahue, and Townsend provide a wealth of teaching sessions to train leaders and group members in the foundational values and practices of becoming a life-changing community. Designed to create healthy group dynamics and an atmosphere that fosters personal growth, this innovative approach equips groups with essential skills and values for creating truly life-changing small groups.
In Session 1, "Getting Connected—God's Purpose for Small Groups," you will learn the benefits of being in a small group and how you can grow spiritually together.
In Session 2, "The Five Habits of Life-Changing Groups," you will learn how you can build into your group the essential qualities of care, safety, authenticity, growth, and help.
In Session 3, "Setting Ground Rules," as a group, you will write your ground rules and make sure everyone agrees on them.
In Session 4, "Determining Your Group's Purpose," you will decide your group's purpose by answering three questions and nail down an agenda of what your meetings will look like.
In Extended Training 1, "Confrontation," you will learn how to confront issues that come up in your group to promote a sense of wholeness.
In Extended Training 2, "Conflict Resolution," you will learn two types of conflict and how to deal with each of them.
In Extended Training 3, "Dealing with People in Crisis," you will learn how to react appropriately when someone in your group experiences life-changing crises.
