Take Back Your Life is a forty-day journey that will challenge you to see your situation with spiritual eyes, identify the roadblocks that get in the way of your faith in Christ, and ultimately take the first steps to become the difference-maker in the world that God created you to be!
Sometimes, we fall into a trap. We fail to recognize the reality of our situation because what our eyes are telling us does not represent the whole story. Take back your life and fix your eyes on God (2 Corinthians 4:18), erase your blind spots with faith, have the right kind of identity crisis, see yourself as God sees you, pursue what you were made to do, speak life over yourself, take off your mask, and let go of your fear.
Things are not as they should be in this world. There is disease, death, darkness, and an enemy seeking to defeat and demoralize us. Take back your life by responding to the Holy Spirit's groaning in your heart (Romans 8:22-27). Jesus has turned off the dark, conquered the power of death, and given us spiritual lenses. Don't get distracted from the important things by the good things; don't live a life of compromise; declare war on the darkness.
In our life, we will be confronted with cross-the-barbed-wire decisions. We have to decide whether to play it safe or refuse to submit to the enemy's tactics. Take back your life by being filled with the Holy Spirit's power and tearing down strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:1-6). When you make a bad decision, receive God's mercy. Reverse negative thoughts with thanksgiving. Use the power of your words to speak life to others, and to speak faith to your own mountains of discouragement.
God will often call us to face our fears when it comes to following his will. He calls us to act courageously...in spite of our fears (Judges 6:11-12; 2 Timothy 1:7). Take back your life by stepping out of your comfort zone and following God's call. Let go of your fear of failure. Rest in God's protection from the terrors of the night. Purge your soul of its burdens through confession. Stop trying to do God's work without God's power. Anchor yourself in the storms of life with hope.
We will encounter seasons when everything seems to be a challenge. How we choose to respond to these "wilderness times" will shape the rest of our lives. Take back your life by embracing the struggle and making time with God a priority (Mark 1:35-39). Stay connected with the people in your community, build each other up, and exhibit patience that brings healing. Be humble, live by the power of God's Spirit, obey God today, set your mind on things above, fight the fear, get up and show up.
